Australia has so much fresh and varied seafood, it’s no wonder it’s a favourite choice for many Aussies. With so many options and different methods of preparation, you'd be hard-pressed to try them all. Fish and chips is an Australian takeaway favourite. Local sea- and freshwater varieties frequently grace Australian plates, and farmed varieties famed for their flavour are produced here as well. Often, imported seafood comes from South Africa or Southeast Asia. However, Australian salmon is a delicious option and Australian Moreton Bay Bugs and Balmain Bugs are also firm favourites. And what's more Aussie than a shrimp on the barbie?

Fancy a bite of Seafood? Here’s some foods you’ll see through the Menulog app. Bouillabaisse is a delicious fish stew, from the French port of Marseille that is brimming with poisson such as Sea-Bass, John Dory and Crab as well Mediterranean Vegetables and herbs, like onions, garlic, tomatoes, thyme, fennel and parsley. Spaghetti Vongole, is a more refined Seafood classic infused with garlic, clams, white wine and chilli flakes, is a dish for lovers of the Mediterranean (or even North) Sea. On that very subject what about a Scottish take on Seafood? Kedgeree is hard-boiled eggs with rice, moist flakes of smoked haddock, fresh parsley and curry powder. It’s a Victorian Scottish recipe, which was brought over from India and (just putting it out there) is supposedly an excellent hangover cure. That Menulog app has many uses, doesn’t it?
Trying to bag some Seafood Cuisine? Look no further than the Iberian Peninsula (and the Just Eat app, of course). The ultimate Portuguese seafood dish is Bacalhau (Salted Cod), nicknamed ‘the faithful friend’. Amongst a whole shoal of recipe variants, is Bacalhau à Brás – made from shredded cod, onions and thinly-chopped fried potatoes bound together with scrambled eggs, then garnished with black olives and a sprinkling of parsley. And no prizes for guessing the go-to Spanish seafood fave from the waves. Seafood Paella is the most recognised Paella recipe, and (typically) features the trio of monkfish, squid and mussels, with red peppers, short-grained rice, saffron, onion, garlic, paprika, rosemary and olive oil. Serve with crusty bread. Order through the not-so-crusty Menulog app.
